Elementary Summer School 2010


Extended School Year (ESY) Elementary Summer School:

    Dates: June 4-July 1

    ESY summer school will be offered at the following times and locations:

    9:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., Monday - Fridays at Bacon Elementary, Joe Horky, principal

    8 to 11 a.m., Monday - Fridays, at Tavelli Elementary, Christine Hendricks, principal

Regular education Elementary Summer School - June 7 - July 2:

 The focus of elementary summer school has changed from previous years.  Please contact your school principal for information.

 

 

High School Summer School 2010

High School Summer School offers students a chance to take 1st-semester, 2nd-semester and year-long courses (including physical education). For more information, contact Centennial High School at marshall@psdschools.org or at 488-4940.

 

Independent Study and Virtual High School are also available with counselor approval (contact Bianca Katz, bkatz@psdschools.org or at 488-4970). 

 

Locations:

    Summer School - Rocky Mountain High School, 1300 W. Swallow

    Independent Study and Virtual High School only - Centennial High School, 330 E. Laurel

 

Dates:  June 7 - July 2, 2010 (click on Catalog and Registration link below for registration dates).

 

Who:  Grades 9-12 (Students who complete 8th grade are able to take 9th grade courses)

 

Times:

Year-long Classes: 8:00 am - 3:30 pm

1st-Semester Classes: 8:00 am - 11:30 am

2nd-Semester Classes: 12:10 pm - 3:30 pm

 

Cost:  each class = $175

            Free and reduced students = $135 ( request to Reduce Tuition form required)

            Out-of-district students = $215

            Year-long classes are double the cost

Explore Enrichment! (Elementary) 2010 

Explore Enrichment is the place for elementary students to challenge themselves, be creative and learn new things. Two one-week sessions are scheduled for June 7-11 and June14-18. Students may sign up for one week or both weeks. Primary classes (K-2) will be held mornings from 9 a.m. to noon and intermediate classes (grades 3-5) will be held in the afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m.

 

Registration deadline for enrollment is Friday, April 30. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. For class offerings and tuition information, please view the following documents:

Summer Music Program 2010

PSD's 2010 Summer Intrumental Music Program is for 5th through 12 grade students. Beginning, intermediate and advanced programs will be offered to students this summer. 

Beginning Instruments for students currently in 5th grade - July 19 - Aug. 6: (120 KB) CLICK HERE FOR PLUGIN DOWNLOAD
The summer beginning band and orchestra program is a three week entry into the wonderful world of band and orchestra in middle school. Classes are separated into like-instruments so the focus is on getting every student started just right. We encourage all students joining their school’s beginning band and beginning orchestra to attend this program and participate at the site closest to their middle school. More... Intermediate instrumental for students currently in 6th and 7th grade - July 19 - Aug. 5: (117 KB) CLICK HERE FOR PLUGIN DOWNLOAD

Advanced instrumental for students currently in 8th-12th grade - Tuesdays and Thursdays in June: (119 KB) CLICK HERE FOR PLUGIN DOWNLOAD
The summer advanced band and orchestra program is designed for students who will be in high school during the upcoming fall, or for students who have just graduated. A band and an orchestra will be held at two local high schools, but any student going into grade 9 or higher is welcome.
