Registration is ongoing to PSD Online Academy!
PSD Online Academy expands to include K to 12th-grades in 2010-11,
adds on-site learning center and enrichment options!
Poudre School District’s Online Academy for Excellence & Innovation is now accepting online school choice applications for kindergarten through 12th-grade students who would like to register for the 2010-11 school year.
Registration is ongoing. Parents and students who would like to learn more are invited to contact Hiebsch, at 490-3086, visit the website here, or email OnlineAcademy@psdschools.org
“It is exciting to see the program growing so quickly,” said Heather Hiebsch, Online Academy director. “We use the latest research in online learning and feedback from families as our guide in designing new programs. We could not have asked for better feedback than to receive a 90% parent satisfaction result our first year.”
A new on-site learning center located at the Barton Center, 703 East Prospect Road, will also open in fall 2010, giving Online Academy students two options for enrollment. Students will still have the option of 100 percent home-based online learning, but will also have the option to sign up for the enrichment track. Students who choose the enrichment track will be able to attend one day per week on-site and have the opportunity to participate in math and literacy enrichment programs, hear guest speakers, meet and interact with other online students, participate in clubs and extra-curricular activities, and enjoy other structured activities in art, music, science, and other areas.
