Suggested Summer Reading ListsIt is hard to believe that summer break is upon us! We hope that students and families will use their time this summer to read and enjoy books together. Research shows that reading just a few minutes a day significantly increases a child’s reading ability. The education.com website has an excellent article on summer reading tips for families: http://www.education.com/magazine/article/summer_reading_tips_for_families/
Maturity & reading ability of middle school students vary considerably. We recognize that parents are the best judges of their children’s emotional development. With this in mind, we have formulated Suggested Summer Reading Lists for Blevins. The books on each list have been chosen carefully for each age group (curriculum-based and/or age-appropriate), but again, parents are the best judges. These lists are just suggested books. What is important is that students keep reading over the summer!
