PSD School Events Calendar – March 7 - 22, 2007

The All-District Young Scholar’s Conference, featuring research projects by 50 Poudre School District students, will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Center, 1200 Raintree.

As part of PSD’s Gifted and Talented program, the Young Scholar’s Conference gives participating students the opportunity to present table displays about in-depth research they have conducted on a specific topic they were passionate about. Community mentors who have assisted the students in their research will also be on hand. The public is invited to attend the event.

Elementary schools participating in the Young Scholars program this year include: Beattie, Bennet, Bacon, Kruse, Olander, O’Dea and Riffenburgh.

Some research projects which will be featured include: "King Tut: Was it Murder?"; "The Art of Costume Design;” "Wives of the White House:" “Imagination + Pencil = Writing;” and “Metalheads.”

March 19, 2007

Registration for Secondary Summer School begins. Students may register at their home school counseling office.

 Secondary Summer School will be held Monday through Friday, June 6 – July 3, 2007 at Poudre High School, 201 Impala Drive.First semester classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 11:30 and 2nd semester classes will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m.

Tuition is $160 per 5-credit class.

March 22, 2007

A night of comedy and magic, to benefit the Poudre School District’s 2007 Special Education Transition Fair, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Boltz Junior High auditeria, 720 Boltz Drive. Proceeds from the magic show benefits students with special needs and their families.

Magicians including The Great Loudini, Tim Follery, Bob Blea and Cody Landstrom will perform.

Tickets are $5 each. Refreshments (popcorn, candy and drinks) may be purchased.
