Cache La Poudre Junior High School Music Department presents the 2006-2007 Artist-in Residence Program at Rocky Mountain High School with “m-pact,” a pop-jazz vocal ensemble. The 3-day series will give Poudre School District high school and junior high choir students the opportunity to participate in clinics and workshops with the group, which has been called one of the best a cappella groups in the country.
In 2001, “m-pact,” a Los Angeles-based vocal band, was crowned Artist of the Year at the SAMIE Awards, the Pacific Northwest’s annual contemporary pop music competition. The group was voted both Best Vocal Jazz and Pop Group (2002-04) in the A Cappella Community Awards competition.
Now touring fine arts halls and jazz festivals internationally, “m-pact’ has appeared on 4 continents – Europe, southeast Asia, North Africa and across the United States and Canada, sharing the stage with superstars like Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Sheryl Crow, Kenny Loggins, Lou Rawls, Isaac Hayes and Take 6.
