Robotics Tournament Provides Competition of the Mind
Twenty-seven LEGO robotics teams from Poudre School District elementary and junior high schools will compete in a high intensity sport-of- the-mind tournament at the 8th annual LEGO League Robotics tournament.
Students ages 9 to 14 have worked for 8 weeks, designing, building and programming robots to execute up to 13 missions in the competition, which will be held from 9:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at Poudre High School, 201 Impala Drive. The competition stimulates students to think like engineers and scientists and learn about real world technology challenges.
Elementary schools participating include: Cache La Poudre, Putnam, Dunn IB World School, Traut Core Knowledge, Zach, Bennett, Bacon, Kruse, Linton, Lab School, and Riffenburgh. Junior High Schools sending teams include: Wellington, Preston, Lesher, Boltz, Cache La Poudre. Many schools are sending more than one team.
We thank the following companies who have made substantial donations to make this year’s Poudre tournament possible: Advanced Energy, Agilent, Woodward Governor Company, and Pleasing Software.
