People who want to give something of themselves this holiday season will have the opportunity to do so at a blood drive scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 1 at Blevins Junior High, 2102 Taft Hill Rd.
The drive is in conjunction with the Garth Englund Blood Center from Poudre Valley. Appointments can be made and the mobile blood unit will be located in the school parking lot.
“Blood supplies dwindle during the holiday season,” explained Diane Schultz, Blevins Counselor. “I organized this drive because I think it’s a fun thing to do to give back to the community.”
This is the eighth year Shultz has organized a December blood drive and encourages people to take 30 to 40 minutes out of their shopping on Saturday to donate blood. Appointments are encouraged, but people may also drop in.
Donors should eat breakfast and allow 30 to 45 minutes for the entire process of paperwork, preparation and donation.
To make an appointment, contact Diane Schultz, Blevins Counselor, at 488-4009.
