Lesher Wins First Place For Homecoming Float
Congratulations to Lesher Junior High for its first place win in the Community Division of Colorado State University’s Homecoming parade held October 10. Lesher followed the parade theme of “Going Green is Easy” by presenting Dr. Seuss’s 1971 classic children’s book The Lorax, a song about protecting our environment from exploitation.
The student-made float’s slogan was said by Lesher 8th-grader, Kathleen Craig, the live Lorax on the float, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Lesher supported CSU with Lorax bright green and gold t-shirts designed and printed by Lesher 8th-grader, Zoe Roth. The float was team built by students enrolled in Marty Marsh’s INQUIRY class and Jens Oien’s Tech class.
