PSD Wrangles Turkeys for Food Bank

PSD Rounds up Turkeys for Food Bank

Poudre School District students and staff will get an early start on the holidays by rounding up turkeys between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 14, for the Food Bank

Students and staff will bring in turkeys to their various sites early that morning.  A volunteer “turkey wrangler,” often dressed in cowboy gear, will collect the turkeys for delivery to the Larimer County Food Bank, 1301 Blue Spruce Drive.

Last year 923 turkeys were rounded up for a total of 13,508 pounds.  In addition, 2,979 pounds of canned food and $195 in cash donations were given to the Food Bank.

For more information, contact Cindi Gyle, volunteer coordinator at The PSD Partnership Center, at 490-3208.
