Lopez Elementary Teacher Earns Two Honors from Library of Congress

Lisa Brose, art teacher at Lopez Elementary, has been selected to contribute a lesson plan for Library of Congress teacher resources and to be the featured teacher in the Library’s national educator newsletter.

PSD's Brose One of 12 Teachers Nationwide Selected to Develop Lesson Plan

When the Library of Congress recently put out a nationwide call for teachers to propose lesson plans for the Library of Congress Experience (LCE) web site, Brose was among those who submitted her idea. Brose, a frequent participant in local Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) workshops, offered through University of Northern Colorado, was one of just 12 educators in the country selected to develop an exemplary lesson plan and receive a stipend for their contribution.

Through a separate selection process, Brose will also be featured in the Library’s spring 2009 Teaching with Primary Sources Newsletter. In the Teacher Spotlight section, Brose discusses her use of primary sources along with engaging technology in her art classes. This quarterly newsletter is available on the Teaching with Primary Sources website* and is read by an estimated 8000 educators nationwide.
