Dear Families,
Happy May O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families! It looks like we made it through another awesome year full of adventures and learning. This will be our last newsletter of the year so it is absolutely full of important information for our end of the year activities. We have our student council carnival, our end of the year barbeque/field day, middle school visits, kindergarten music program/graduation and our 5th grade graduation. Be sure to read more about these great activities further in the newsletter. It will be a fun and busy month…but we will be going strong with our activities and instruction until the very last day of school!
Thank you to all of our amazing families that joined us for our Spring Family Dinner/Core Knowledge Fair/Starry Night. It was a starry and magical evening of great food…families… friends…and fun projects to view! We had over 400 family members attending this fabulous event. Thank you for joining us and making our evening so enjoyable!
Our Teacher Appreciation week will be blooming at O’Dea our first week in May and it will be a great time to show our team how much we appreciate their hard work. They work very hard to make O’Dea the very best place for your children…we are lucky to have them!
Our 2012 – 2013 class lists will be created this month and we will be sending home letters with class assignment, student supply lists and calendars for next year. Our teachers always do a wonderful job creating balanced classrooms and we are looking forward to sharing that information with you in a timely manner.
Thank you again for a tremendous school year! I have absolutely loved being principal of O’Dea this year and seeing your wonderful children every day. They have made me smile, laugh, think and be a better person. I am thankful that you have shared them with me. I hope that you enjoy your summer with them; we will miss them when they are gone, and look forward to their return in August.
Thinking of summer…flowers…pools…and camping,
Laurie Corso
