PSD Schools Achieve Success

PSD Staff, Students Collect Food, Cash for Cans around the Oval

Congratulations to staff and students in Poudre School District, for outstanding participation in Colorado State University’s Cans around the Oval food drive.  PSD, along with CSU and others in the Larimer County community collected 84,000 lbs. of food and raised $27,000 in cash donations which will help feed hungry people in our community this winter.

Contest winners were selected based on a point system with points awarded to the various organizations, with points awarded for food items and cash donations.

• Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School, took 1st place, in the community schools division as well as 3rd place in the overall competition with 7,631 points.

• Boltz Middle School took 2^nd in the community schools division with 5,956.06 points.

• Lesher International Baccalaureate Middle School took 3rd place in the community schools division, with 3,025 Points. 

Together, the combined total of Kinard, Boltz and Lesher is 36, 124.34 points, enough to earn Poudre School District 1^st place in the Community Category.
