Beacon Program
We are ready to begin the Beacon Program services! Starting the week of September 19th I will be working with students during their Intervention/Enrichment time in their grade level units. The full time Beacon Program will begin on October 3rd. The plan is to meet with Long’s Peak students on Mondays, Mesa Verde on Tuesdays, Silverton on Wednesdays, Castle Rock on Thursdays and Evergreen students on Fridays. Bear Lake students will start at a later date to be determined. Most likely they will join the Beacon Program on Fridays. If your child will be participating in the Beacon Program you will receive information before October 3rd. I look forward to getting started and getting to know my students and their families. Your questions and/or comments are always welcome. Email is the best way to contact me. See you soon!

This is the first year for our Beacon Program and we are thrilled to be developing a program designed specifically for Beattie’s gifted and talented students. The Beacon Program is dedicated to serving gifted and talented students at Beattie. We are excited to announce that we will be serving students in grades K-5 by offering a full day pull-out program one day a week when appropriate to students’ area(s) of strength. Currently, we plan to serve one grade level each day with a flexible schedule for kindergarten students. This program is still in the formation phase. We hope to have it fully running before the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Please look for more details to come in the Beattie newsletter and on the Beattie website. A Beacon Program website will be added to the Gifted and Talented Beattie site in the next few weeks.
Student specific information and services will be communicated prior to students joining the Beacon Program. If your child is identified as gifted and talented, in any area, they will be invited to join the Beacon Program and will participate in activities and rigorous lessons designed to challenge your child in his/her identified area(s) of strength.
