RESPECT

Respect is polite consideration for ourselves, others, property, and those in authority.

RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility is being in charge of what we say and do, accepting the consequences of our actions, and being accountable for our own learning.

HONESTY

Honesty is being truthful with our words and our actions.

CARING

Caring is being kind, thoughtful, helpful and considerate.
 

RESPECT

Polite consideration for ourselves, others, property and those in authority.

K-1:   We will use good manners and common courtesy.
          We will care for others’ feelings, ideas and properly
          We will politely do what an adult asks us to do
          We will respectfully ask for what we need and want.

2-3:    We will be active listeners.
          We will use an appropriate tone and volume of voice.
          We will do our best to keep others safe from harm.
          We will follow the Golden Rule.

4-5:    We will build community by being good leaders and role 
              models.
          We will be aware of how our behavior affects others.
          We will use appropriate language at all times.
          We will honor others’ beliefs, opinions, property, abilities
             and needs.

RESPONSIBILITY

Being in charge of what we say and do; accepting the consequences of our actions, and being accountable for our own learning.

K-1:   We will take care of supplies and school property.
          We will know and follow the school and classroom rules.
          We will clean up our messes.

2-3:    We will manage our own materials and work.
          We will admit mistakes, accept consequences and learn 
             from them.
          We will understand that we are in charge of our own
             actions.
          We will work cooperatively in groups.

4-5:    We will prepare ourselves mentally and physically to do
             our personal best.  
          We will give 100% effort and turn work in on time.
          We will have self-control when we are angry and 
            disagree. 
          We will stop rumors and gossip by refusing to repeat
            them. 
          We will do our share and perhaps a little bit more, for the
            good of the community.

HONESTY

Being truthful with our words and our actions.

K-1:   We will tell the truth.
          We will keep our hands off things that don’t belong to us.
          We will do the right thing.

2-3:    We will be truthful in our actions and accept
            consequences as an opportunity to learn. 
          We will ask for permission to use others’ property and
             ideas.
          We will do our own work and follow the rules to games.

4-5:    We will talk about our real feelings and needs, even when 
            the situation is difficult.
          We will use our own ideas to complete our work.
          We will understand the importance of personal integrity
            and giving others the “benefit of the doubt.”

CARING

Being kind, thoughtful, helpful and considerate.

K-1:   We will use kind words, actions, and faces.
         We will help others.
         We will be friendly.

2-3:    We will include others.
          We will show compassion when others are sad, hurt or
            excluded.
          We will express happiness for others’ successes.
          We will be patient with others.

4-5:    We will focus on the good in each other and not judge
            each other.
          We will take action to help those in need, at school and in
            the larger community.
          We will remove obstacles to another’s progress.
          We will encourage our classmates.
