Happy Summer O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary Families!
I hope that you are having a fabulous summer with your children, friends and families! We are busy preparing for your child’s arrival and look forward to seeing all of their smiling faces walking through our doors on August 22nd! As I always say…our building is simply too quiet when they are gone and I always look forward to their return. It is going to be another wonderful year at O’Dea and I am thankful that you are a part of our school community.
As many of you know, O’Dea has been growing over the past few years so we have quite a few new additions to our team for the 2011 – 12 school year. Our current O’Dea team now includes the following staff members:
Classroom teachers:
Kindergarten: Patti Zamora (Full Day), Christian Kozlowski (Full Day) and Kelli Nielsen (70% class)
First grade: Cydney Way Devine, Jen Morris, and Leslie Butler
Second grade: Jenn Castor, Lynne Lemesany and Taia Dolva
Third grade: Bridget Shaw, Courtney Petros and Sara Cawley
Fourth grade: Patrice Sutton, Morgan Anderson and Megan Downey
Fifth grade: Lindsey Carmody and Ryan Joyal
Special Education: Lainie Belcher, Carrie Ashley, Jennifer Reesor, Megan Conahan, and Lisa Hernandez
Literacy: Mary Stewart and Laura Sutton
Specialists: Gary Cale (Art), Nancy Gorman (Music), Lesa Bak (Library/Technology), Nathan Mohs (P.E) and Michele Bishop (Counseling)
The kids and I have been enjoying the summer vacation with a family reunion in New Jersey and a few trips to Glenwood Hot Springs. It has been a fun summer in the sun for us! But we are also very eager to get the year started as they are always filled with wonderful adventures and exciting opportunities for learning.
As we prepare for our year together, there are a few dates to add to your calendars:
August 18th ~ Kindergarten ice cream social for all entering kindergartners and their families 5:00 – 6:30 (kindergarten hallways and classrooms)
August 18th ~ Popsicle social for all families (5:00 – 6:30) This is a great opportunity to find your new classroom and meet your new teacher. Please feel free to bring your school supplies and drop them off that night!
August 22nd ~ First Day of school! (Our start and end times will remain the same with the first bell ringing at 8:40 and our dismissal bell at 3:23)
September 1st ~ Back to School Night (6:00 – 7:45)
We cannot wait to see everyone! Enjoy your remaining summer days and know that we are looking forward to your return!
