What is Odyssey of the Mind?
• OM was founded on the belief that “the Mind, like the body, can be trained through practice and exercise to reach it’s fullest potential.”
• Student led teams which solve one of the annual OM problems
• A creativity challenge
• Teams are judged on ingenuity
• There’s no right answer, just the most imaginative.
• PTA Sponsorship
• District Sponsorship
OM Competition includes two parts 
• Spontaneous Problem
– Team has no idea what the problem will be.
– Develops real time problem solving skills.
– Really a lot of fun.
• Long Term Problem
– Team decides which problem to solve.
– Long term solution includes performance, props, staging ideas, etc. all developed by the team.
– Presented to an audience at the tournament.

– Inventive, Imaginative, Creative
– Work as a team
– Negotiate with each other
– Create time-lines
