Service Learning Projects
Every Wednesday afternoon, the students of Peak and Little Peak are joining together to help out in our community, which we call service learning. Service learning is where the students and staff come together to do volunteer projects such as adopting a natural area, helping at the Open Door Mission, filling food boxes at the Larimer County Food Bank, volunteering at the W.O.L.F. sanctuary and other charities in Ft. Collins. Our first project was at Arapaho Bend where staff and students alike sweated it out picking up approximately fifty pounds of garbage! This Wednesday we went to the Food Bank of Larimer County, the Open Door Mission and the Workforce center. The staff at the food bank could not have been more impressed by our students; where they were complimented for being professional, polite and hardworking.
