Objectives
Through Project Element, students will be exposed to a comprehensive educational curriculum based on music, technology, social skills, job readiness, entrepeneurship, and community involvement. Hip-Hop transcends political and economic boundaries and has emerged as a powerful voice for youth all over the world. The curriculum of Project Element challenges students to sharpen their critical analysis of the recurring themes in urban music, such as materialism, race, love, anger, sexuality and gender.
Project Element seeks to:
>Expand cultural, community and self-awareness;
>Increase functional job skills;
>Foster passionate involvement in constructive activities;
>Promote collaborative education;
>Increase student leadership opportunities;
>Motivate students to achieve educational and personal goals;
>Increase educational success for at-risk students in Fort Collins.
