The Rice staff and community are committed to creating and maintaining an environment of academic excellence, positive behavior, and character development.
The Rice community has adopted a unique approach to learning. We deliver the high quality, standards-based PSD curriculum with an emphasis on inquiry and critical thinking. This combination provides a rich, engaging, and differentiated curriculum and affords students the opportunity to enhance and extend their thinking skills, questioning, creativity, and problem solving.
The staff at Rice has established and will continue to hold high expectations for all students both academically and behaviorally. We believe that every child can achieve academic excellence. Small group literacy instruction, flexible math groupings, and intervention/enrichment block all provide extra support and additional challenge for students to reach high levels of achievement. Our Positive Behavior Support (PBS) provides clear expectations, direct teaching of expected behaviors, positive reinforcement, and appropriate consequences.
Children are the focus at Rice, and the staff puts forth their best efforts every day to make school a special place for all children. I am thrilled to be working with such an enthusiastic and highly professional staff and community!
