Why is the PTO important?
Because it’s for all of our kids!

Please join us the second Monday of each month in Riffenburgh’s Media Center for the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meetings.

NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS OR NO FEES.
All parents, guardians, teachers & staff are members of the Riffenburgh PTO.

The purpose of the PTO is to promote the welfare of our children in the home, school and community. Parent and teacher participation in PTO meetings, volunteering in the school, and FUNdrai$ing are beneficial in shaping the direction of our children’s lives.

Fundraisers sponsored by the PTO last year paid for Missoula Children’s Theater Production, Robotics Team Competition, Odyssey of the Mind Competition, assemblies and speakers to enrich our children’s education, as well as many fun activities for the whole family!

Riffenburgh has a history of strong parental involvement through our PTO. Although PTO is not part of the decision-making process, we appreciate their interest, input and support. They provide many family activities such as a back-to-school ice cream social, a safety fair, holiday parties for children, and book fairs. Money that the PTO raises comes back to the school and our teachers in the form of mini-grants that support student needs and activities.

One of PTO's greatest services to us is coordinating volunteers in our school. VIPS (Volunteers in Poudre Schools) is an integral part of our school and provides volunteers that include students from our high schools and CSU (Colorado State University), retired folks and, of course, parent. Volunteers work with our children in numerous ways. Some of them listen to children read, while others work with individuals and small groups wherever the neeed exists.
