Welcome to Riffenburgh Elementary’s Gifted and Talented information page.

At Riffenburgh we strive to meet the needs of all students of all abilities including our gifted and talented (G/T) students. We utilize the Poudre School District model for identifying G/T students in the areas of Math and Language Arts. Students who receive an identification of G/T in an area have an Advanced Learning Plan written for them which is updated annually. A yearly goal is written in each identified area and is based on the individual student’s strengths and interests, as well as, input from the student, their parents and teachers.

A Riffenburgh student who is identified G/T participates in a small G/T group pull in once a week called Discovery Lab. During this time students may work on self selected research projects, creative problem solving activities, Great Books Literature groups or even novel studies as well as higher level math thinking skills and strategy games. During this time the affective needs of G/T learners may also be explored.

For more specific information on the identification process used to identify students as well as ALP’s please go to the district gifted and talented web page.
