Main Street Gallery and CFG
By Kevin, Colin and Conner
Since the interview at The Timnath Art Gallery with Rus Skinner several incredible facts were revealed about the Colorado Feed & Grain. One of the facts that was discovered was that there had been a suicidal killing in the past. There had also been bar maidens that swear they have seen a ghost. Something else that is very interesting is that there are bullet holes in the up stairs apartment because people have tried to shoot mice.
There have been two famous people who visited both the Feed and Grain and the Timnath Art Gallery. Their names are Jerry McMorris, who was the owner for the Rockies. The other, is a famous artist that brings her work to the art gallery. Her name is Jutta Golas. Just to let you know, the Colorado Feed and Grain has very good food and very good music.
The Feed and Grain is currently split up into two businesses. One half of it is a bar and restaurant. The other half is a shop called the Timnath Main Street Art Gallery. The art gallery was built in March of 1996 and is currently managed by a man named Rus Skinner. He bought the building in 1991. When he bought it, Mr. Skinner moved in, and is currently living in the attic of the gallery. Mr. Skinner also built a garage onto the original building. He did this so he could have a place to work.
This year alone, 120 art works have come and gone through the gallery. If you would like to purchase or get more information on some sculptures or paintings, the Timnath Art Gallery is located adjacent to the railroad tracks on Main Street in Timnath.
Each year, Rus Skinner allows children from Timnath to have an art show in his studio. Only 35 children (about 5 per each grade) are allowed to display their works at the Gallery. You can buy these items and others like it at the Timnath Main Street Gallery.
In 1929, Ed Pearson was the manager of the Moody-Warren Commercial Co. (grain elevator). In 1933, the manager was Carl Neergard. It was still the same building in 1933-1936. Then in 1936 it changed to Strang Grain Co. During 1936, the manager changed to Joe Mefford. The Strang Grain elevator stored livestock, poultry, feed, alfalfa and feed seeds. In the 1960Õs, it was still the Strange Grain Elevator. Many people who worked with Moody-Warren were Robert Strang, secretary, Carl Neergard, Pete Day and Joe Mefford. Joe later became the owner. Here were some things that people brought to the elevator; wheat, barley and corn. The Strange Elevator was built roughly 80 years ago. Only one person owned the Elevator at the same time.
It has been the Feed and Grain for about 10 to 15 years.

Kevin's Research Process I created the history of the Feed and Grain page when I was in the sixth grade as part of a final choice class. I chose this topic because studying about the Colorado Feed and Grain sounded very interesting. This is because it seemed as though there would be strange stories about the Art Gallery and the Colorado Feed and Grain.
I got all of my information from a few books about the town of Timnath and I also interviewed two people that had valuable information. Before we interviewed the two people it was very exciting. I was also nervous about what would happen. Before we interviewed them we read a whole book about the town of Timnath. The most interesting thing I heard was that there were ghost sitings and a suicide. I thought interviewing someone with so much information was a very cool experience and I would not have a problem with doing it again.
First, I would like to thank Rus Skinner for taking his time off of work to help us with the Timnath project. Also, I would like to thank George Sloan for giving us information about the grain elevator before it turned into the Colorado Feed and Grain and the Timnath Art Gallery. Next, I would like to thank my teacher, Mrs. Durkin, for helping us in our research and building our web page. Last I would like to thank Elsie Fisher, and Del Miller for writing the Timnath book which gave us loads of information. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Colin’s Research Process I created this page when I was in the sixth grade as a final choice class. I chose the topic of the Feed and Grain because we pass it every day on the way to school, yet we know nothing about it. The sources we used were George Sloan, Rus Skinner, (Cool guys) and Timnath a very interesting book.
I had a lot of fun working on this project, and I would do it again if I could. Thanks for reading this. Bye!
