Welcome to Werner Elementary! We are eager to meet you and help you begin your volunteer venture to support our students and staff and make this an incredible year. Please read through the opportunities below to learn about Werner events and activities. Which could you chair or co-chair? Which fun team will you join?

Join a Committee for a One-Time Event:
o Book Fair – Dec. 2009 & Apr. 2010 - co-chairs Susie Baer & Elise Branson.
o E or C-Book – Sept. 2009 – coordinate sales of e-book and student rewards thru classroom mail
o Earth Day – Apr. 22, 2010 – develop a day of education and fun at Werner – include passive education and/or hands-on activities in conjunction with the classroom teachers.
o Fall Festival - Sept. 11, ‘09– Kick-off community celebration- chairs Cathy Lee & Kyra Geraghty.
o Family Activity Night – Feb. 5, 2010 – create an evening of fun for the Werner Community – make it a valentine’s dance, a beach party or an original idea you come up with!
o Homecoming Float – Oct. 9, 2009 – create float design and encourage Werner community to join in the parade - chair Melissa Bates.
o PTA Membership - fall 2009 – encourage, educate and sign-up parents to become members of our PTA organization - chair Melissa Robinson.
o Read-A-Thon - spring 2010 – create a day of reading and activities to support classrooms and students.
o Science Fair – flexible time - coordinate, publicize, and organize a science fair for Werner students.
o Teacher & Me, Class Baskets – Nov. 6, 2009 & Mar. 5, 2010 – collect donations via classrooms, teaching staff and area businesses to create baskets to be sold at a silent and live auction at Werner.
o Teacher Appreciation Week & Luncheon - May 2010 – create recognition program for staff and teachers and organize luncheon during week - co-chairs Melissa Bates and Elise Branson.
o Werner Bingo Night – Nov. 6, 2009 & Mar.5, 2010 - create a fun bingo night at Werner – including food, bingo games, and prizes.
