Mrs. Burkhart

 I joined the Werner Community in 1988, and love teaching third graders! I have taught other grades, but third grade is my favorite. Third graders are so excited to learn, and I love their enthusiasm and energy! I was born in Cherokee, Iowa and attended Garfield Elementary School in Cherokee. I attribute my aspirations to become a teacher to my own third grade teacher at Garfield, Miss Allen! I earned my BA Degree from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and I have my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. My family includes my husband, and our son and his wife who live in San Diego, California. Some of my hobbies and interests are reading, gardening, and golfing. We love to ride bikes, hike, and travel with family and friends--anything to enjoy the mountains and the great outdoors! I look forward to another exciting year of learning and working with our terrific students, parents, and colleagues. Werner is the BEST!!
