Mitzi Johnson is a fifth grade teacher at Werner. She teaches writing, history, and math. Mrs. Johnson has taught 4th grade and sixth grade but most of her 24 years experience falls as a fifth grade teacher all at Werner Elementary. That is because she loves it at Werner. The staff and community are wonderfully supportive!
Mrs Johnson was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and she has also lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. She graduated from the University of North Texas. She met her husband in Texas. They moved to Fort Collins 25 years ago. They have two children. Lea attends the University of Colorado in Boulder and their son is a junior at Fossil Ridge.
Along with her family, Mrs. Johnson loves traveling, boating, and playing tennis. When I say tennis, I mean a lot of tennis. She was on 5 tennis teams this summer and everyone of her teams won their league and advanced to District playoffs in Denver. When she isn't playing tennis, she loves to watch her children play tennis in tournaments or their high school teams. Grant is also an avid baseball player.
She is looking forward to learning all about her students' interests and passions this year, and helping them grow as they prepare to enter middle school.
